A waitress, at an all night diner the night Jesus is arrested. She’s finishing up her shift and engages with some of the regulars about this latest twist in the story. The final customer of the night enters, and she recognizes him as one of Jesus’ friends, but he denies it.
This is a rather remarkable piece that highlights how fast the events happened on Holy Week, the turn of people’s hearts and loyalties as seen through the eyes of an ordinary woman who has more wisdom than most. A really nice character piece.
