  As Acts of Renewal, Carol and Jim lead workshops to help integrate the use of the arts in your church. Each workshop is custom fit to your goals and the participants experience level. While at your church Carol and Jim can teach and perform as well as help implement creative worship ideas while working in complement with the worship leader, pastor or priest.

JIM AND CAROL'S BACKGROUND:

Carol Anderson - MFA in Acting - UNC at Chapel Hill’
BA in Biblical Studies - Barrington College

Jim Shores - Ph.D in Communications - Regent University,
MA in Environmental Biology,
BA in Film, TV and Radio - UNC at Chapel Hill
Jim and Carol are committed to using the arts for the glory of God. For the past 15 years they have toured and performed nationally as Acts of Renewal. They have written, performed and produced theatre for many Christian conferences, colleges and church events. Their material has been aired on PBS and we have had much experience in seeing how the Lord uses story to get around the defenses of the heart to speak truth.

At St. John the Divine in Houston Carol was Director of the Christian Theatre Arts program and developed the Contemporary Service that utilized drama, dance, visual art, music and creative worship. It was meant to be a seekers service for young adults. Instead it drew an intergenerational group of people from different denominations, backgrounds and beliefs. The arts would bring people in and the spirit of God would get them to stay.

Years later, building from this experience, Carol developed a Worship Arts major at Montreat College in North Carolina. developing the next generation of worship arts leaders who will be able to better implement the use of the arts in worship and communication of Gospel truth. Over the years Carol and Jim have taught small and large churches, colleges and seminaries of many denominations how to use the arts to communicate the Gospel in fresh new ways.
