The Christmas Story

Set in an Iowa diner on Christmas eve, a waitress tries unsuccessfully to write a Christmas story that will prove that she really is a writer. She longs for something that is really Christmas to happen to her that will inspire the story. It seems all but hopeless until a mysterious wonderful happening occurs.
This one-act received several standing ovations when produced at the A.D. Players Theatre Company in 1988.

Theme: Sex and Dating. Ann is getting married in a few weeks and is sorting through some old love letters from boyfriends dating back to the 7th grade. As she relates to her sister the nature of each relationship the old boyfriends come back to life and she steps into the past reliving her choices and mistakes in terms of romance and sex. She shares with her sister the hard lesson she learned and the reality of forgiveness and the God of second chances.
Written for a state wide True Love Waits Conference this piece was performed by college students and was a huge hit.

The Trek

Theme: Spiritual Gifts. A group of six teenagers come together on a week long outward bound type experience where they are supposed to discover their spiritual gifts. The prom queen, the jock, the know it all, the rich girl, the brainy nerd, and the insecure girl who feels she has no gifts at all go through a series of adventures, trials and rubber meets the road experiences to discover things about their relationship with God and themselves. This was written for a five day youth conference where each episode was followed by a speaker's talk to bring across the principles.
